Product Description
The OM 5E is a magnetic cartridge (MM) with an elliptical shaped stylus that provides balanced and distortion-free playback for general purpose applications.
If your tonearm has a standard headshell or a cartridge mount, then step up to optimal sound reproduction with OM’s. A glance at anyone of these cartridges will reveal Ortofon's answer to perfect tonearm matching. Ingeniously tucked into the top of the mounting bracket is a tiny, removable weight-plate.
If your tonearm is an standard tonearm, just leave the weight-plate.
If your tonearm is one of the low mass types, then simply remove the weight. The mass of your OM cartridge is now a mere 2.5 g.
Price / performance is hard to beat with this discounted MM cartridge from the OM series by Ortofon. This design variant offers a simple plain packaging almost the same quality as the superior Super-OM-series. Despite the low price, which results from the slightly larger tolerance to the pickups of the Super-OM-series, it is amazing prezise in decline. This system is ideal for your "old" record player in order to "kiss" it from its sleep and breathe new life into it. The cartridge comes in a simple factory packaging.
